“Yes,” I whisper as the pain takes over my body.

“Good, she’s responsive. Let’s get her inside quickly and smoothly.”

I nod, but I know that she’s not talking to me.

Then they start to move me and I can hear Ross’s voice in the background.

“I can’t believe that I fucking drove here alone.”

Aunt Veronica is calming him down, “Ross don’t worry it happens to the best of us. I remember in this one episode of General Hospital a dad did exactly the same thing!” she giggles, but she’s laughing alone as he keeps repeating the same words: “Sorry Olivia.”

I shake my head, I want to tell him that it’s okay, but I feel myself on a stretcher and being moved inside the hospital. It may be fast but sure isn’t smooth.

Before long I’m pushing and being helped by Ross, he is no longer panicking, but kissing my forehead and saying, “Come on Olivia you can do it.”

I can hear them telling me that the head was out and then as if he was watching a football match Ross screams.

  “Just one more try!”

I’m trying but I’m so weak. I didn’t even change my clothes. I’ve still got the dress on that I was wearing; my panties are a thing of the past. When did I lose them? My mind wanders and thinks of other things as I start to feel faint again, but Ross isn’t letting me.

“Come on, babes our son’s nearly here.”

Hearing that he’s on his way just makes me want to push even more. One more time. One last burst of strength and then it’s over.

I hear him crying and he feels like such a distance from me.

“Olivia, it’s not over honey. Just one last push for the afterbirth and then we’re there.”

The doctor’s stroking my legs and Ross has disappeared. I can hear him asking if the little one’s okay. Once he has the reassurance then he’s back by my side.

“You did it babes. Our baby’s fine.”

I smile at him, “I suppose we’re going to have to call him Junior?”

He says, “No way, we can call him whatever you want. Besides I was thinking Keith after your dad or we could go with Christian?”

He winks at me as I try to hit him. He’s got to be kidding me. I’m not calling him Christian. He’s the one that’s obsessed not me. I want to hold my little one in my arms. But I’m too tired. “I just need to rest Ross.”

He kisses me on the head and the last thing I hear is, “You can sleep for a little while. You have the rest of your life to hold him.”

I can feel him putting him in my arms. I used to laugh at the idea of having a natural birth. I feel as if it’s taken the wind out of me. My life is so perfect that I know once I have the strength, I’ll be joining Aunt Veronica on the sofa and catching up on a show while holding my little baby in my arms. I might either watch Billionaires, just so that I can figure out what all the fuss is about.

  ###The End###

  About Me

I had dreams of being a footballer. One bust-up knee and a welt of depression, and I came to the realization that I’d never fulfill my dream. On my hunt to find what I enjoy doing, I found that I enjoyed Fifty Shades a lot more than most men would admit. I’m not shy, as you just found out in my book. I hope that you continue to follow me on my writing journey. I hope that you enjoyed the book and will continue to keep reading more. My next release is about a single dad. Below is a sneak preview.

  Single Daddy in the Club

A one-night stand left a baby in his arms.

About Single Daddy in the Club

  I was the founding member

A single parents’ group in our area.

We were supposed to support each other.

  Babysit each other’s kids.

  That was until he joined.

Hunter James came to join our group.

  He pointed out the obvious.

It says single parents, not single moms.

  I couldn’t refuse him.

As much as I wanted to.

You see, Hunter and I used to date back in high school.

He told me that he wanted a career in football and I was standing his way.

I cut him loose and it broke my heart.

And I’ve never forgotten how he made me feel.

  Now he’s back in town.

A one-night stand left a baby in his arms.

He says that he wants support from the group.

But I have a feeling that he wants more than that.

  He wants help from me.

  Once bitten

  Twice shy.

I’m not going back down that road. No matter how strong the temptation is….

  Chapter One

  Hunter

She’s been so fucking hard to find. Talk about disappearing and then coming back to the place where it all started. I knew the moment that I saw Nia’s name on the register that she would be the one that would be heading up the group.

Back in high school, she was the independent one. The one that I said was getting in the way of my game. She was supposed to say that things could work and that she loved me. She never did. She just kissed me on the cheek and wished me luck.

  Just like that.

That was when I knew that I had to get out of the relationship. She didn’t think about me the same way that I thought about her. It was evident.

I’ve spent the last four years hoping that she’ll change her mind, but she never did.

I loved Nia back then, and I still feel the same way about her now. It’s as if she hasn’t aged. The same long blonde hair perfectly cut and her hips, shit they used to grind me all night and I never wanted her to stop. She’s just like a fine wine. Matured and in control.

“What the fuck are you doing here?” She blurts out as soon as she sees my face.

“I came to join the club. Single parents’ club.”

  She shakes her head vigorously.

“Hi Hunter, How are you? Long time no see.” That was the greeting I was expecting not the unwelcome one that I received.

“It’s a single mom’s club. No men allowed!”

“I didn’t see the flyer saying only women. In fact, that’s sexist. I could sue you for discrimination.”

She waves a finger at me, the one that I’d loved to suck and says, “Look if this is some game…”

But then she’s cut short by this slim little Hispanic who has lust written all over her face. “He’s right. It doesn’t say single moms. It says single parents. Hi, my name’s…” she was just about to introduce herself, but Hayley cuts her short. She’s mad, no she’s fucking crazy. I know it because she’s waving that finger and her left foot is tapping as if she’s in an electric chair. She’s shaking and her eyes are wide open as if she’s seen the light for the first time in years.

“We couldn’t discriminate, but it was clear from the word go, that this club was only for single moms.”

I brush past her, trying to get through the damn door. “Ladies, do you mind if I join?”

There’s a wave of silence and then a chorus of, “No.”

Before they can even finish telling me all the reasons that I can stay, and even join, Hayley is at it again.

“I’m the founder of this club. The owner. The one that does the memberships and I say no.”

The Hispanic lady comes right by my side if she was any closer she could be a second skin.

“Well, this is a democratic society, and I think that you're a bit sexist. We could do with some fresh blood.”

I wondered if she means for the club, or bedroom?

Either way I’m in, and there’s nothing she can do about it. The victory is mine for the taking.

“Besides at my daughter’s school, there’s some single dads in there too. I could ask them to join. You know, to make up the numbers,” I’m addressing the question to the crowd, and I can tell that it’s working well.

  “You
guys sound as if you’ve got history. Why would you turn your friend away?” a brunette stands up and asks Hayley.

She finds herself speechless; I didn’t think that it was possible. Age must have changed her. She always had an answer for everything.

The crowd cheers and encourages me to invite some of my single-dad friends. I smile and use my charm, the one that I know works every single time. Because it’s great that I’m in. There’s just one problem, I have no single-dad friends, but I know tomorrow at the school gates, I will find them.

“Don’t you even think this means that you have a chance with me again? We’re old friends; you got it?”

I nod slyly because she misunderstood. I’m not joining to be part of the group.

I’m joining to be more than her friend.

I want to take up where we left off, and one thing’s for sure.

I always get what I want and I’m not taking a kiss on the cheek as an answer…
